Sand dollars are invertebrates that live on the sandy ocean bottom. They are often found fragmented and white, washed up on the beach, but in their true living state, they are covered in fuzzy dark brown or purplish spines. They use these spines to move plankton into their mouths and also to crawl across the seafloor. Living sand dollars must always be left in their natural state, happily living on the seafloor.
Artwork is also available as a repurposed solid wood art block.
